Teeth whitening techniques are designed to lighten stained, darkened or discolored teeth. This procedure may be performed here in the office, at home, or at both locations.
While the materials used during this process appear to be safe, they are still relatively new (1989), and unexpected problems may occur. There are presently some known side effects. Tooth sensitivity and/or tingling are the most common side effects. Soft tissue (gums, lips, cheeks tongue) irritation is also known to occur. If you experience these or another adverse symptom, stop using the whitening material and call Dr. Davis for further instructions.
The amount of whitening achieved and the ducation of its effect will vary. while most teeth lighten to the extent desire, some do no. In some instances, lightening is minimal, subtile or unapparent. In all instances, additional whitening over time all be required to maintain the lightness originally optained.
I have read and understand the above description of possible consequences of whitening techniques. I read and understand English. I have asked Dr. Davis any questions I have concerning this procedure and the consent form and they have been answered to my satisfaction. |
