Gum Treatment
The treatment of gum disease depends on its degree of severity. Gum and bone disease occurs when bacteria and their byproducts are present an unacceptable levels. Treatment may vary from scaling and root planning (deep cleaning below the gum line) with antibiotic therapy to gum and bone surgery.
Bad Breath
Halitosis, or malodor, occurs when bacteria that should not be present in your mouth are present at very high levels. Treatments usually involve the cleaning of the gums and the underlying bone, as well as a modification in the daily oral hygiene regimen, to eliminate the bacteria and their odor causing gases.
